Anthony Ogogo Criticises WWE Over Their Use Of Serena Deeb

Deeb was memorably a part of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society in 2010

Serena Deeb is rightly regarded as one of the best women’s wrestlers on the planet. A 16 year veteran, Deeb most recently reigned as NWA Women’s World Champion, defending the belt at NWA and AEW shows alike.

For many, their first exposure to Deeb was in WWE, where Deeb was partnered with CM Punk, Luke Gallows, and Joey Mercury as the Straight Edge Society in 2010, in what would ultimately be a short lacklustre run.

Deeb later returned to WWE in 2018 to work as a coach in the WWE Performance Centre, but was released in 2020 on ‘black Wednesday’.

Now AEW’s Anthony Ogogo has given his thoughts on Deeb’s WWE run, tweeting:

“Imagine having a talent like @SerenaDeeb for years and not allowing her to go out and show the world she’s one of the best wrestlers on the planet week in and week out. So, so, sooo damn good.”

Ogogo’s Tweet received many replies in agreement, including one from Mickie James, who simply posted a popular Jada Pinkett ‘that part’ reaction gif.
