Apollo Crews could be out of action for several months, with the former Intercontinental Champion announcing on Instagram that he sustained a torn pectoral muscle on a recent episode of SmackDown.

"Heading into surgery today. A few weeks ago on SmackDown, I tore my pec - an unfortunate situation. Sometimes, you do everything right, but there are just some things beyond your control. I'm looking forward to the road ahead, attacking it with a positive and unstoppable mindset. And enjoy my clean shave! It has been a while since I have seen this baby face!" Crews wrote on Tuesday night.

Crews suffered the injury during a match with Johnny Gargano on the January 24 edition of SmackDown following a backstabber from Gargano. Crews immediately grabbed his pectoral/shoulder area following the move and he looked to be in considerable pain after landing on his pec following an enziguri.

Crews would ultimately win the match against Gargano, continuing an undefeated steak in singles matches that has been in place since August 2024. Crews has only had three matches as part of the winning streak, however.
