Report: Apollo Crews Injured
Apollo Crews injured on WWE SmackDown
Jan 28, 2025
Apollo Crews could be set for a spell on the sidelines following an injury on the January 24 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Crews had his first televised singles match in months on SmackDown as he faced Johnny Gargano. The WWE Tag Team Champion hit Crews with a backstabber during the match and Crews immediately clutched his pectoral/shoulder area. Crews' arm was then left hanging for the remainder of the match and he looked to be in considerable pain after he landed on his pec following an enziguri.
The match quickly went to the finish as the Motor City Machine Guns distracted Gargano which allowed Crews to roll him up for the win. With the victory, Crews is undefeated in singles matches since a loss to Santos Escobar on August 2, 2024. Crews has only had three singles matches since then, however.
When Crews will next wrestle is up in the air, with Bryan Alvarez reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that the former Intercontinental Champion was injured on SmackDown.
"Apollo Crews, I checked on that one, he is also hurt…he took the backcracker and I don't know if it's his pec or his shoulder or what but he's hurt. So he was injured in that match and what it is we don't know yet. But that's now three in seven days," Alvarez said.
JD McDonagh sustained a major injury on Monday Night Raw, being diagnosed with broken ribs and a punctured lung after being taken to hospital.
