Arn Anderson Reveals What Dolph Ziggler Was Missing In WWE

Arn Anderson knows what stopped Dolph Ziggler from getting to that next level in WWE

Dolph Ziggler was released by WWE back in September 2023, ending an impressive 20-year run that saw him win numerous titles, including the World Heavyweight Championship. But despite his accolades and reputation for consistency, The Show-Off never quite reached that next level and didn't become an established main event player.

According to WWE Hall of Famer (and formerly backstage producer) Arn Anderson, the only thing stopping Ziggler from getting to the very top was having the right person in his corner. Speaking about Ziggler during a recent edition of his ARN podcast, the 65-year-old said:

"The only thing he was missing was the right guy pulling for him. When you have all the talents that he has and there's something missing, you may look to see who went to bat for him and who didn't. Sometimes that can work for you, or against you, and I'll leave it at that".

Anderson noted that he himself was a fan and lavished praise on Dolph, saying:

"I'm a big fan. First and foremost, he knows the most important thing and the biggest responsibility of every performer that steps through those ropes. Number one, get the match over. If you get the match over, you're ahead of the game. Then depending on the outcome and results and hopes for results, you have the responsibility of getting your opponent over and yourself. So Dolph had that quality. He knew what his job was at night and he could go out and he could cater to a guy's strengths, cater to his weaknesses as far as saying, 'Let's not do that'. Longevity, he was a guy that didn't get hurt very much, very durable, and brother, he would go out and the excitement that he brought to a match was, I thought, exceptional. I'm a big Dolph Ziggler fan".

Now wrestling under his real name Nic Nemeth, the 43-year-old recently captured New Japan Pro Wrestling's IWGP Global Heavyweight Title. Nemeth also recently revealed that he had asked for his WWE release on numerous occasions before it was ultimately granted to him.
