Asuka Provides Injury Update

Asuka may have went under the knife to address injury.

WWE star Asuka has provided an update on her status as she continues to recover from a knee injury initially suffered in March.

The Empress of Tomorrow posted a picture of her bandaged knee in a brace from what appears to be a hospital bed on social media, indicating that she may have undergone surgery.

Last month on her YouTube channel, Asuka noted that she was going to be taking a break from WWE, writing in a video:

"After the Backlash of my European tour, I had to take a break to treat my knee that I had been hurting for a while. My partners Kairi and Dakota helped me a lot during this tour as I could not move at my best. I am very grateful to both of them"

The 42-year-old last wrestled at Backlash France, where she and her Kabuki Warriors partner Kairi Sane dropped the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

Asuka was initially set to compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament (ultimately won by Nia Jax), but was withdrawn due to her injury.

It is unclear what the exact nature of the injury is or how long Asuka will be out for.
