Asuka Wins Tri-Brand Battle Royal, Earns Match With Bayley For WWE SummerSlam
The Empress of Two Belts?
Asuka will have a chance to win two different singles titles at SummerSlam, after winning a battle royal on Friday night's SmackDown to earn a match with SmackDown Women's champion Bayley.
Asuka had already earned a match against the woman who defeated her for the Raw Women's title, Sasha Banks, for the same night. To get that shot, Asuka had to defeat Bayley in a non-title bout on this past Monday's edition of Raw.
Asuka and Shayna Baszler were the final two entrants in the tri-branded battle royal (open to competitors from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT) on Friday night's show. Bayley attempted to interfere late in the bout, but ultimately, Asuka eliminated Baszler to win the match.
