Athena Wins Women's Gauntlet Match At AEW All In Texas

Athena has won the women's Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In on Saturday in Arlington, TX, entitling her to a future women's World title match.

Late in the match, Kris Statlander powerbombed Megan Bayne off the apron onto most of the competitors on the floor. Only Mina Shirakawa and Thunder Rosa were in the ring for the apparent final sequence, during which Shirakawa had the upper hand. She attempted a figure four on a dazed Rosa, only for Athena to come off the top with her O-Face stunner on Shirakawa for the win.

Syuri made her AEW debut during the course of the match, as did Alex Windsor. A veteran of STARDOM, among other championships, Syuri held the World of Stardom title for one year in 2021-22. Windsor, the fiancée of Will Ospreay, and a former champion in Rev Pro and Tokyo Joshi Pro, was announced to have signed with AEW last month.

Athena has never held a championship under the main AEW banner. She has been ROH Women's World champion since December 2022.
