Back-Up WWE WrestleMania 38 Plans For The Rock Reportedly Revealed

Will The Rock be involved at next year's WrestleMania?

WWE still reportedly have plans in place for The Rock to be involved at next year's WrestleMania even if a one-on-one match with Roman Reigns is not possible.

A potential match between The Rock and Reigns has been rumoured for months, with the The Great One and The Tribal Chief expected to clash on WWE's biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 38 next year in Texas.

WWE still desire to put The Rock vs. Reigns in their WrestleMania main event but have got a back-up idea if Rock is not able to work a singles match on the card.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if concessions need to be made for the Rock due to injury concerns, then WWE will put him and one of the Uso brothers against Reigns and the other Uso brother in a tag-team match.

WWE would prefer to have The Rock involved in the show rather than not and, while a tag-team match is not the first choice, the promotion recognises that including The Usos could help to protect The Rock from too much heavy lifting.

Meltzer writes: "One idea that has been talked about, as the goal is Reigns and Rock in Dallas for the 2022 Mania, is that if concessions have to be made regarding Rock and movies and injury fears, that they do Reigns and an Uso vs. Rock and an Uso, so Rock can be protected from doing too much.

"It keeps it all in the family with the idea and Rock and Reigns as who is really the tribal chief. Obviously the singles match is the preferred match but any involvement of Rock is preferred over him not doing the show."
