Backstage News On Ethan Page's WWE Debut

More on Ethan Page’s recent WWE debut

The May 28 edition of WWE NXT saw a shock debut in the shape of Ethan Page, with the former All Elite Wrestling star attacking Trick Williams at the close of the show.

Reports surfaced revealing that Page has signed a deal with WWE, and was at the Performance Center last week ‘under the cover of extreme darkness’. A follow up report from Fightful Select has shed more light on ‘All Ego’s debut, noting that NXT officials have been interested in securing Page’s signature since his departure from AEW in early May.

During rehearsals for Tuesday’s show, Shawn Michaels stood in for Page whilst Booker T was noted on the show rundown as being in Page’s position. NXT officials also played Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme during the rehearsals in place of Page’s attack on Williams. WWE played Ethan Page’s debut - and the NXT debut of TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace - very close to the chest.

On the NXT broadcast, Vic Joseph quipped that Page used to be in ‘AE-‘ cutting off before saying the ‘W’. This was apparently a scripted line.
