Backstage News On How AEW Books Collision

Since the show's premiere in June of 2023, AEW Collision has been a distinctive addition to All Elite Wrestling's weekly calendar, with the show having a different feel to Dynamite and Rampage. 

Collision has been built around the likes of FTR, Eddie Kingston, Bryan Danielson, House of Black, and Adam Copeland since CM Punk's AEW firing in September with certain talents being featured on a regular basis. The matches have often featured high-profile talents working with younger up-and-coming wrestlers, such as Adam Copeland through the Cope Open against the likes of Lee Moriarty and Griff Garrison or Eddie Kingston against Bryan Keith. 

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, this is part of a deliberate booking plan from the likes of Bryan Danielson and other influential talents on Collision.

"Well, the thing with Bryan Danielson is that like he's... a lot of things the guys on Collision... there's a mentality on that show with the guys who were you know if you want to call them the bookers of the show or assistant bookers because Tony's the booker, but the assistant bookers of the show, and their mentality is 100% 'Let's get other people over but we still have to win' because, you know, they're key guys, whether it's Eddie Kingston, Bryan Danielson, can't lose to Hechicero. But he's trying to get these guys, whatever it is, a job or whatever," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
