Rey Fenix made his in-ring WWE debut on this past Friday's edition of SmackDown, picking up a victory against Nathan Frazer.

Some fans are naturally curious as to why WWE put Fenix on the blue brand when his brother and Lucha Bros tag partner Penta is on Raw.

In a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp responded to someone asking if the two masked men were always planned for singles runs, saying that: "'Always' is kind of foggy, since they were talking to WWE last Summer. It was pretty clear to Penta and Fenix that they'd be on different brands in the last couple of months, though".

Sapp went on to say he personally believes WWE are creating multiple big moments with the two talents individually before bringing them together later.

Penta provided some thoughts on Fenix joining him in WWE, noting that his dream match is to take on his brother in a Mask vs. Mask encounter.

Though he debuted against Frazer, Fenix is reportedly planned to feud with Andrade on SmackDown. Andrade's last televised match was a loss to Jacob Fatu on the February 28 edition of SmackDown.
