Backstage News On WWE Scrapping Carlito's Old Entrance Music

Carlito didn't want a new WWE entrance theme

Carlito is back full-time with WWE, having made his return at Fastlane on October 7 to help the LWO defeat Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits. Carlito had been signed with the company since the summer.

The former Intercontinental Champion briefly returned with his former entrance music at Backlash in Puerto Rico but the music he used from 2004 until 2010 was not used at Fastlane, with WWE instead unveiling a new entrance theme for Carlito.

Speaking with the Ringer Wrestling Show, Carlito revealed he wanted to keep his original entrance theme but WWE ultimately wanted to make the change.

"They ran it by me. They wanted to change it. I wasn't crazy about changing it. I, like everyone else, wanted to keep it. I liked it the way it was, but, you know, they said we want to change it and I was like, alright, let's see what we can do. They asked for my input here and there. I'd say we can use a little more base, more drums, little things like that. Then the lines, I wanted to change. I didn't want the old lines from before. I wasn't crazy about it, but I found it was like one of those earworms where I'd be humming it to myself during the day. I'd find myself humming it here without even noticing. It grew on me a little bit. People don't like change. I'm not crazy about change, but I think it's something that needs to be done and you know, just do something to put a fresh coat of paint on everything," Carlito stated.

Carlito has since been added to Friday Night SmackDown, linking up with his LWO faction mates on the blue brand. The former United States Champion stated he always wanted to be in WWE.
