Backstage Reaction To Gable Steveson's WWE Release

The backstage reaction in NXT to Gable Steveson's WWE release has been revealed

In WWE’s annual post-WrestleMania cuts, numerous talents from both the main roster and NXT were let go from the company. Amidst the NXT releases, Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson was released after spending nearly three years signed to the promotion, reportedly due to a lack of improvement.

Steveson had a handful of on-screen appearances at the likes of WrestleMania and Monday Night RAW, but ended up only having one televised match against Baron Corbin in NXT, which was poorly received by fans. Per a report from Fightful Select, there was little surprise backstage when it was announced that Steveson was amongst those let go. It was noted that his lack of progression led to his WWE release, rather than previous legal controversies. A talent stated that it was clear to see the difference in talent and development between Steveson and his brother Damon Kemp, who is still currently wrestling on WWE’s developmental brand.

There was more confusion surrounding some other of WWE’s recent releases though such as Valentina Feroz and Trey Bearhill. The belief was that Feroz was mired by injuries and was unable to get a real change and showcasing her talents, leading to her release. The same was said about fellow released wrestler Boa.
