Bandido is now a two-time ROH World Champion, having defeated Chris Jericho in their Title vs. Mask Match at All Elite Wrestling’s Dynasty pay-per-view on Sunday, April 6.
Chris Jericho actually won the match by pinfall after using Floyd the baseball bat to deck Bandido while referee Bryce Remsburg wasn't looking. Bandido's mother and sister complained voraciously at the result, however, to the point that another referee in Aubrey Edwards arrived and revealed the bat had been hidden while providing zero evidence that Jericho had actually used the bat.
Regardless, Bryce Remsburg ordered the match to be restarted. Jericho then grabbed Bandido's sister by the hair and she slapped him right in front of the referee, which somehow didn't lead to a DQ. Bandido then followed up with the 21-Plex for the victory.
Bandido and Chris Jericho had been in a programme since Bandido returned from a long layoff at ROH Final Battle 2024, with Jericho winning the first match of the feud on the February 22 episode of AEW Collision. The rivalry continued, though, with Jericho stealing Gravity’s mask at AEW Revolution. Jericho later challenged Bandido to a Title vs. Mask Match but the match was only made official a few days before Dynasty, reportedly due to a “ridiculous” situation involving Bandido’s representatives.
The loss ended Chris Jericho’s second reign as ROH World Champion after 166 days. Jericho became a nine-time world champion courtesy of his win over Mark Briscoe in a Ladder Match in October 2024. He successfully defended the belt against Tomohiro Ishii and Matt Cardona prior to Jericho kicking off his programme with Bandido.
