Cope was seemingly written off AEW TV at the Dynasty pay-per-view, being stretchered out following an FTR beatdown.
Rated FTR challenged The Death Riders of Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli for the AEW World Trios Titles at Dynasty and the challengers were on the same page for much of the contest. Issues arose, though, in the final moments as Adam Copeland went for a Spear to Wheeler Yuta and almost ran into Dax Harwood when Yuta avoided the move. The two allies ended up colliding anyway, though, after Yuta pushed Cope into Harwood. The Death Riders member then followed up with a Busaiku Knee to Dax for the win.
Post-match, Dax Harwood decked Cope with a Piledriver out of nowhere. Cash Wheeler initially pushed Harwood, refusing to hit a con-chair-to before promptly changing his mind and joining Harwood with a Shatter Machine to Cope. What followed was a Spike Piledriver and two Con-Chair-Tos from Wheeler to the former Edge.
The turn makes FTR heels for the first time since March 2022. Issues between Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood had been teased in recent weeks although speculation heading into Dynasty suggested the tag team turning on Cope was the likely outcome of FTR’s on-screen issues.
Cope and FTR had been linked on-screen throughout 2025, teaming together for the first time on the January 1 episode of Dynamite. They were 3-0 in matches together prior to their loss at Dynasty.
