Baron Corbin is set to leave WWE, after it was revealed that his current deal (which expires before the end of the year) will not be extended.
The 40-year-old former WWE United States Champion has taken the time to thank fans who have sent messages of support on social media.
"Just want everyone to know I see all the messages and tweets. I appreciate it more than you know. It definitely helps!", Corbin wrote on X.
As well as the US Title, Corbin also won the NXT Tag Team Titles, the King of the Ring (in 2019), the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (in 2016) the men's Money in the Bank (in 2017) and the NXT Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic (with Bron Breakker earlier this year) during his twelve-year tenure.
Despite these accolades, Corbin himself agreed with fans who believe that WWE fumbled him.
In a sign that the decision to not renew Corbin's contract may have been one that was made recently, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp noted that WWE had him record a commercial for Netflix six says before they informed him.
The Lone Wolf replied to the post by saying "That is a fact".
