Bayley To Select WWE WrestleMania 40 Opponent On SmackDown

On this week's WWE SmackDown, Bayley will select the championship she competes for at WrestleMania.

After winning last weekend's 2024 women's Royal Rumble match, Bayley appeared on WWE Raw last night to further her road to WrestleMania.

The SmackDown Superstar's appearance on the red brand was explained as a "loan" by Nick Aldis to Raw GM Adam Pearce, and saw Bayley appear with the rest of her Damage CTRL stable to brag about winning the Rumble.

Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley interrupted the promo segment, but was ambushed and beaten down by Nia Jax. Bayley then revealed that she'll make her WrestleMania decision on this week's episode of SmackDown.

Although she is aligned with current WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY, it is widely expected that Bayley will end up facing her stablemate at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A fallout between Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL has been teased for a while now, with Bayley looking conflicted when Asuka and Kairi Sane entered the Royal Rumble on Saturday. After her victory, Bayley's celebrations were watched by both champions backstage - with IYO looking less than overjoyed.

Bayley won the 2024 Royal Rumble from the number 3 entry, last eliminating Liv Morgan and setting a new longevity record for the women's version of the match in the process. She lasted over one hour and three minutes.
