Bayley Wins WWE Women's Title At WrestleMania 40

Bayley defeats Iyo Sky to become WWE Women's champion

Bayley is the new WWE Women's champion, after defeating Iyo Sky on the second night of WWE WrestleMania 40 on Sunday night in Philadelphia.

For the finish, Bayley hit a flying elbow off the top rope, before following up with the Rose Plant. None of Sky's Damage CTRL teammates (Asuka, Kairi Sane, or Dakota Kai) interfered during the course of the match.

Bayley had an Egyptian-themed entrance, wearing wings, and was carried out by four masked followers in themed attire.

For Bayley, it's her fourth reign as some form of WWE Women's champion. She previously held this version of the title for 76 days in the early part of 2017 (which included a successful defense of the title over Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Nia Jax at WrestleMania 33).

Sky's reign as champion ends after 246 days. She won the title by cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Bianca Belair at SummerSlam in Detroit on August 5 (moments after Belair won the title herself from Asuka).
