Big E Reveals He Was The First Person To Congratulate Xavier Woods On WWE King Of The Ring Win

Woods defeated Finn Balor to win the crown

Big E has revealed he was the first person that was able to congratulate Xavier Woods backstage after winning the 2021 WWE King Of The Ring tournament.

Woods has long been vocal about his dream to become the King Of The Ring, discussing it on podcasts, in interviews and on social media. The New Day member was finally able to fulfill his career ambition, defeating Finn Balor in the tournament final at Crown Jewel last month in Saudi Arabia.

With all three members of the New Day now also achieving individual success, with Big E currently holding the WWE Title, E was the first person in WWE to greet Woods and share in his moment of triumph.

Speaking to Metro, Big E said: "When he came through the curtain, I was the first person there, and getting to hug him and just tell him how proud I am of him was just such a beautiful moment. This man has wanted this for so long, he’s been tweeting about it, he’s been talking about it for years and years. I’m so grateful that he’s getting to live out this dream."
