The WWE title will be on the line next week on Monday Night Raw, as new champion The Miz will defend against Bobby Lashley.
Raw opened Monday with Lashley and MVP informing Miz that they were "collecting their debt" after the previous night's Elimination Chamber. Lashley had sufficiently beaten down a weary Drew McIntyre, enabling Miz to easily cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on McIntyre.
Lashley demanded a match with Miz for his championship, and gave Miz one hour to make a decision. After the hour, Miz asked to delay Lashley's challenge by one week.
At this point, Braun Strowman came out demanding a title match. Adam Pearce and Shane McMahon decided to put Strowman against Lashley on Monday's Raw, with the stipulation that if Strowman won, he would be added into next week's title match.
Lashley went on to defeat Strowman, giving himself the sole right to challenge for Miz's WWE title on next week's Raw. After the match, Lashley further ravaged Strowman with the Hurt Lock, and then speared Miz, before holding up the championship as Raw went off the air.
