Booker T: AEW Looks Like They're Revamping WCW

The WWE Hall of Famer is concerned with how much veteran talent AEW is snapping up

Booker T took to the airwaves again with the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast. Amongst many topics this week, Booker touched upon AEW and its recent signing of several high profile veterans, such as Christian Cage and Paul Wight (fka: The Big Show).

It’s a move which was caused debate amongst wrestling fans, and Booker T himself has his concerns over the signings, saying:
"Do you think this is the right move for AEW? Right now it seems like they're pulling a revamp of WCW. As far as signing veteran talent. Guys well past their better years of their careers. Guys that perhaps the young guys can take either one or two ways; that these guys are here to help us or these guys are here to take our spot.”

Booker himself knows first-hand how the arrival of established stars can affect a locker room of hungry talent, witnessing the arrivals of Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and many others whilst in WCW. Booker also knows what the other side of the coin feels like, joining TNA when he himself had reached veteran status, where he had to assure the young locker room that he was there to help, and not just collect a paycheque.
