Bret Hart Calls CM Punk One Of His Favourite Wrestlers, Wants To Plan A Match With Him

Even if the match never happened, Bret would love to plan it out with Punk

Bret Hart may not be enamoured with the general direction of professional wrestling in 2023, but he has always had a lot of time for CM Punk.

During a recent interview with the TWC Show, The Hitman gushed over the Straight-Edge Superstar and the idea of simply sitting down and working out a match between them, saying:

"(CM) Punk is one of my favourite workers in the business ever and I might give him my jersey today if I see him. But, he's always been one of my most favourite wrestlers.

"It's fun for me to even imagine (facing Punk). Even if we didn't do the match, I wish we could just sit down and plan the match, and then animate it or something".

Hart and Punk have had some previous on-screen interaction. Bret put Punk in the Sharpshooter when he served as guest referee for a tag match in 2011, and also knocked the then-WWE Champion down with a punch during an in-ring segment in 2012.

Punk has made no secret of his own admiration for the two-time WWE Hall of Famer and often pays tribute to Bret in matches.
