Brian Pillman Jr. Set To Undergo WWE Name Change

Brian Pillman Jr. looks set to go under another name in WWE

Brian Pillman Jr. won't be using his real name in WWE.

The company recently filed to trademark 'Lexis King' on October 2 and PWInsider Elite has reported the word going around at the WWE Performance Center is that the name is earmarked for Brian Pillman Jr.

WWE often ensures talents change their in-ring name before debuting, which allows them to own the rights to the moniker if the wrestler eventually leaves the company. There have been a few exceptions to this rule for the likes of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Jade Cargill.

'Lexis King' appears to be a tribute to Pillman's family. Brian's sister Alexis Pillman passed away in a car accident in 2009. Skylar King is also one of Pillman's sisters while Brian's mother Melanie Pillman-King passed away in June 2022.

When Pillman first entered pro wrestling, he used 'Alex King' as his in-ring name before he transitioned to Brian Pillman II and then Brian Pillman Jr.

Pillman signed with WWE in recent months after his contract with All Elite Wrestling expired. There have been teases for his debut on WWE NXT TV but there are reportedly no concrete plans for Pillman beyond the teases as of yet.
