Shinsuke Nakamura Hits A Go To Sleep On WWE Raw Amid Rumours Of CM Punk's Return

A Go To Sleep from Shinsuke Nakamura on WWE Raw

The teases of CM Punk potentially joining WWE continued on the October 9 edition of Monday Night Raw.

A Triple Threat to determine the next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship was announced for Raw pitting Bronson Reed against Ricochet and Chad Gable. Before Ricochet could make his way to the ring, though, he was taken out by Nakamura on the entrance ramp, who levelled him with a Go To Sleep.

The GTS is the long-time finisher of CM Punk, although the finishing move is also used by KENTA, the innovator of the Go To Sleep. KENTA actually joked about a potential WWE return following Nakamura's GTS, tweeting: "See you at survivor series lol."

The Go To Sleep from Nakamura followed a tease from Corey Graves during SmackDown in which he referenced a classic CM Punk promo, saying, "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed."

Rumours have swirled about a potential CM Punk return to WWE in recent days, with it being claimed the two sides are in talks. Both WWE and CM Punk are reportedly willing to work together but there are major stumbling blocks to a Punk comeback as he still has a "ton of heat" in the company stemming from his first WWE run.
