Britt Baker Was Thankful To Work With CM Punk, Says He Will Always Be A Part Of AEW History

Britt Baker looks back on CM Punk's time with AEW

The All Out media scrum back in 2022 was a dark day for AEW, with CM Punk’s controversial outburst leading to the infamous “Brawl Out” incident and subsequent backstage issues which eventually led to Punk’s firing from the company. Punk wasn’t everyone’s enemy in AEW though, and was friends with former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker. In an interview on Maggie & Perloff, she spoke on his time with AEW.

"CM Punk coming back to wrestling is one of the most historical things in All Elite Wrestling history and it always will be. You can't take that out of the wrestling books. I'm really thankful that we got to work with CM Punk. I've learned some stuff from him, he was always really helpful and willing to work with younger talent.

“It didn't work out, it wasn't a fit, but that's still always going to be part of the AEW story. It's just that chapter is closed for right now. I think everyone wishes him well, I would hope to think he wishes AEW well too. It just didn't work out but at the end of the day, how cool is it that CM Punk was in wrestling again for AEW? And got to wrestle in Chicago again too of all places."

Given the manner of his exit, it doesn’t seem too likely that Punk will be back in AEW any time soon, even though Baker hasn’t personally closed the door on the prospect.
