WWE have booked NXT shows against All Elite Wrestling's pay-per-views throughout 2025, but WWE are planning to run a main roster pay-per-view/premium live event against AEW for the first time in September.
POST Wrestling has reported that a yet-to-be-announced main roster WWE pay-per-view is planned for Saturday, September 20 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the show will go head-to-head with AEW All Out, which is officially scheduled for Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, unless AEW moves All Out to a different start time.
Meltzer has also reported the planned main event of the WWE show on September 20 is Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena.
"The main event for the show is Brock Lesnar and John Cena, so it's a big one. Which is why Brock's not in Paris, is because of this. They wanted him for this show, not for the Paris show, and that's why Logan Paul got the gig," Meltzer said.
WWE controversially brought back Brock Lesnar in the closing moments of SummerSlam, with Lesnar laying out John Cena following his Undisputed WWE Title loss to Cody Rhodes. Lesnar was cleared for a return by WWE's legal department in the weeks before SummerSlam, although he is still named in Janel Grant's sex trafficking lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon.
In 2025, WWE have booked NXT premium live events on the same day as AEW Double or Nothing, All In Texas, and Forbidden Door.
