Brodie Lee Discusses Leaving WWE, Dream Opponents In AEW

"The Exalted One" reflects on making the jump...

Little more than five months ago, the man known as Luke Harper received his WWE release, after asking for it the previous spring. Three months ago, Brodie Lee emerged in AEW as The Dark Order's "Exalted One". In a week's time, he challenges Jon Moxley for the promotion's World Heavyweight title.

Lee appeared on Busted Open Radio to discuss getting the chance to prove himself in AEW, and having the opportunity to be a featured player.

"That's the main reason why I didn't want to be in WWE anymore, it's because I knew those opportunities weren't coming," said Lee. "No matter how hard I scratched and clawed, no matter what I proved, they weren't coming. I wasn't one of the chosen ones. Now here I am, I'm proving it myself."

Lee relishes getting to work with Moxley, whom he's worked with in different promotions previously. While he looks forward to that match, he also discussed individuals he'd love to wrestle in AEW, mentioning the likes of Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Cody Rhodes. But there's one specific name that stands out the most.

"It's crazy to say. I don't want to come off like, 'Everybody,' but literally almost everyone on the roster is a fun match up to me," Lee states. "It's all fresh, it's all new and it's very cool. But a guy like Kenny Omega is probably at the top of the list to have that crazy, big time match up."
