The upcoming Street Fighter movie is set to have plenty of professional wrestling presence, as it was revealed in recent months that both Cody Rhodes, cast as Guile, and Roman Reigns, cast as Akuma, would both be appearing in the movie. Reports also suggested that NJPW’s Hirooki Goto would also be in the film.

Filming for the movie is expected to begin very soon, with it scheduled for some time next month in September. When it comes to the status of both Rhodes and Reigns, who are each two of WWE’s biggest names, they are not expected to be missing much time from WWE. Fightful Select have offered some insight on their status and scheduling, noting that WWE are optimistic that the movie would not interfere with any storytelling.

In the case of Cody Rhodes, it was stated that his role would not be impacting any booking decisions or winners over SummerSlam 2025 weekend, so he is not expected to be missing any substantial time. Reigns picked up a win on SummerSlam Night 1 in a tag team match, and Rhodes is scheduled to do battle with John Cena for the WWE Title.
