The upcoming Street Fighter movie has its Guile, with Cody Rhodes officially cast as the all-American GI.

News this week suggested Rhodes was in talks over the part, but a report from Deadline has shed more light on the ever-expanding cast, with Rhodes officially confirmed for the role. The former Undisputed WWE Champion will be looking to flash kick and sonic boom the likes of 50 Cent, Jason Momoa, and country star Orville Peck - who have been cast as Balrog, Blanka, and Vega respectively - amongst many others.

The upcoming Street Fighter live-action reboot is scheduled for release in 2026, and it remains to be seen how much time Rhodes will miss from WWE television to film his part. WWE will also be without Roman Reigns during production with the ‘OTC’ set to portray Akuma in the picture.

For those unfamiliar with Guile and the Street Fighter universe, the similarities between him and Rhodes are uncanny: both have a devastating kick, both are proudly American and very blonde, both have iconic themes, and both love nothing more than going home and being a family man.
