Bron Breakker has reportedly been cleared to compete, just several weeks shy of WWE WrestleMania 42.

Breakker has been out of action since early February 2026, and underwent surgery to fix a hernia. Recent reports suggested the former WWE Intercontinental Champion was set to report to the WWE Performance Center in the hopes of being cleared, and an update from Fightful Select states that the second-generation star has indeed been cleared to return.

How this news affects WWE’s plans from WrestleMania 42 remain unclear. All roads were seemingly leading to Breakker vs. Seth Rollins, due to an angle that took place at the 2026 Royal Rumble. With Rollins recently returning from injury himself and entering a feud with GUNTHER, it remains to be seen if WWE change tact and replace GUNTHER with Breakker, add Breakker to the bout and make it a triple threat, or refrain from booking Breakker in a match at all.

Reports in late March suggested that WWE were optimistic of Breakker being cleared in time for Mania, and still had plans in place for Bron on the show. If Breakker does compete at mania it will be his second showing at the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’, having put up his Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XLI against Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and Penta.
