Bron Breakker reveals why he turned heel on WWE NXT
Bron Breakker has explained why he turned heel on last week's edition of NXT.
The two-time NXT Champion had been the developmental brand's top babyface for over a year but he turned to the dark side last week, laying out Carmelo Hayes to close out NXT.
Breakker, with a new heel attitude, appeared on the April 11 edition of NXT to explain his actions, interrupting Chase U's award ceremony for Duke Hudson. Carmelo Hayes offered Bron a spot in the number one contender's fatal 4-way earlier in the night and after interrupting Chase U, Breakker rejected the offer, instead offering the spot to Duke Hudson.
Breakker also explained his heel turn, revealing that he had come to realise the NXT Championship was a curse on his career and that he didn't need the approval of "these scumbags anymore", referring to the fans in attendance at the WWE Performance Center.
Hudson would ultimately accept Breakker's offer and Bron looked to spear Hudson following a handshake but the former Brendan Vink moved out of the way as Breakker decked Andre Chase instead.
The segment then came to an end after Breakker tore apart the Chase U flag.
