Could Ricky Steamboat hang in today's professional wrestling landscape? Not according to WWE executive Bruce Prichard.

Discussing wrestlers from the past who worked a faster-paced style and could potentially fit in with today's stars during a recent edition of his Something to Wrestle podcast, Prichard singled out Steamboat as somebody who he feels would struggle in this day and age.

"The only one I don't think that would've survived would be Steamboat probably. From this vantage point; personality wise. And I don't know if Ricky would've had a strong enough personality to be able go out and cut those promos every week. In the ring? Forget about it man. He would do great," he said.

Generally considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Steamboat's perceived lack of personality did not prevent him from having a long and illustrious that saw him win the WWE Intercontinental and NWA Worlds Heavyweight titles (among many other accolades).

The Dragon retired in 1994 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, the same year he returned to the ring for a series of well-received matches with Chris Jericho.

Last year, Prichard said he didn't believe Steamboat had what it took to be a top guy in WWE during his prime.
