Bully Ray On Goldberg's WWE Return: "Vince McMahon Is A Mark For That Kind Of Stuff"

McMahon continues to see value in Goldberg

Six months after his last match, Goldberg returned to WWE on the July 19 edition of Monday Night Raw and told Bobby Lashley he was next. The WWE Champion rejected Goldberg's challenge soon after but the two men will reportedly face off for the gold at SummerSlam on August 21.

Similar to his previous returns, Goldberg's appearance on Raw received criticism from fans but Bully Ray tried to explain why WWE continues to use the two-time Universal Champion. Ray ultimately noted that McMahon is a big fan of Goldberg's look and, therefore, the WWE Hall Of Famer will continue to get booked.

"Fans are back in attendance, the WWE Universe is excited, Goldberg is a WWE Hall of Famer. They put him out there, they keep seeing what they can get out of him. They must be getting something out of him, and I know Vince (McMahon) likes him. Goldberg is an older gentleman who still goes to the gym, looks phenomenal, and Vince McMahon is a mark for that kind of stuff, so opportunities and chances are still given," Bully Ray said on Busted Open Radio.

The upcoming match with Lashley will be Goldberg's second contractually obligated bout of the year. The WWE Hall Of Famer is signed with the company "through 2022-23" on a two-matches-per-year deal.
