Butch Returning To NXT For The Global Heritage Invitational

Butch will be back in NXT soon

A former NXT wrestler will be making his return to the brand very soon, as Butch (formerly known as Pete Dunne) will be back competing on the show.

He was announced alongside a list of other competitors including Tyler Bate, Joe Coffey, Duke Hudson, Charlie Dempsey, and Nathan Frazer as taking part in the NXT Heritage Global Invitational - a tournament to determine the next challenger for Noam Dar’s Heritage Cup at the NXT No Mercy event.

The tournament will have a round robin structure with two groups of four wrestlers, with matches having a 12-minute time limit. A pinfall or submission win earns a wrestler two points, and a draw one point.

Butch hasn’t competed in NXT since late 2022 when he and Ridge Holland of the Brawling Brutes went back down to developmental to challenge Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Prior to that, his last official match as part of the NXT roster came when he lost to Carmelo Hayes in an NXT North American Championship match on his way out of NXT prior to his main roster call up.
