Pete Dunne Is BACK On WWE SmackDown

"Butch" is now "Pete Dunne" once again

After it was heavily hinted at during last week’s WWE SmackDown in a backstage segment, the now former “Butch” has undergone a change in presentation, returning to his roots. During last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Pretty Deadly were set for a rematch from two weeks back against the British Strong Style duo of Butch and Tyler Bate. This time though, it wasn’t Butch who they were facing.

The entrance screen flashed up the name Pete Dunne, and out he came with his old style of hair, maroon wrestling gear, and even the fur on his shoulder. Pete Dunne was of course the old name of “Butch” prior to his main roster call up in 2022. At a time when a lot of wrestlers were getting name changes, with a reason being for WWE to own trademarks over their superstars’ names, Pete Dunne was controversially turned into the rabid Peaky Blinders parodying Butch, joining him up with the Brawling Brutes faction.

Dunne and Bate emerged victorious in this match, with Dunne hitting the Bitter End on Elton Prince to score the victory.
