Canyon Ceman "Strongly Believed" To Have Been Fired Because Of Adam Cole's WWE Contract Situation

Cole’s contract expired at the end of July

WWE Vice President of Talent Development Canyon Ceman was let go by the company on July 23 after six years in the role, and now it is believed his firing may have something to with Adam Cole’s WWE contract situation.

Per a report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, “It is strongly believed, that this is where it [Ceman’s dismissal] stems from, I’m pretty sure that the reason he was released was this Adam Cole contract situation here.”

Ceman’s release from WWE does line-up with Cole’s contract expiration, which allegedly expired at the end of July. It’s believed Cole has signed an extension through NXT TakeOver 36 over SummerSlam weekend to put over Kyle O’Reilly, and will reassess his options afterwards.

The ball is in the former NXT Champion’s court with regards to his next move. He has leverage should he negotiate a new deal with WWE NXT, and also has friends in high places at AEW and would likely walk into a nice position in the company should he jump ship.
