Cara Noir & Effy's Egg Spitting Spot Receives Mixed Internal Reaction

A prominent spot at GCW Live In London on Sunday, January 26 split opinion on social media and backstage at the show.

The main event of Game Changer Wrestling's show from the Electric Ballroom in London, England featured a GCW World Title defence from Effy against Cara Noir. The final moments of the match saw Cara Noir revive a spot he has done before of spitting a raw egg into his opponent's mouth.

The mixture of raw egg and saliva didn't repulse Effy, though, and they appeared to enjoy the liquid before Effy proceeded to spit the raw egg back into Cara Noir's mouth. Effy then followed up with a big boot to Noir as he spat the raw egg into the air before Effy hit a rough rider for the win.

Many on social media were repulsed by the spot and the match currently has a 2.9 rating on Cagematch, with the majority of the negative reviews criticising the use of the raw egg.

The response internally at GCW Live In London wasn't hugely positive either. Corey Brennan of Fightful Select has reported there were "mixed reactions internally' to the moment.

Other matches at GCW Live In London included Man Like DeReiss vs. Maki Itoh, Sidney Akeem vs. Aigle Blanc, and Leon Slater vs. Jimmy Lloyd.

GCW recently held The People vs. GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom. PCO sparked controversy at the event as he destroyed the TNA Digital Media Title with a sledgehammer in a shoot moment.
