Cesaro has admitted the only thing he regrets about his storyline with Roman Reigns, and Universal Championship match at WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2021, is that it didn't play out in front of fans.

Cesaro cemented himself as a top-tier fan-favourite on WWE SmackDown in the first half of 2021, earning Daniel Bryan's respect before facing and defeating Seth Rollins in his first singles match at WrestleMania, at WrestleMania 37.

The Swiss Cyborg would then challenge Reigns for his Universal Title at WrestleMania Backlash, losing in a tremendous pay-per-view main-event, and Cesaro simply wishes fans had been there to experience it live and in person.

Speaking on The Out Of Character Podcast with Ryan Satin, Cesaro said: "Do you know what I was disappointed about? I wish it would have been in front of fans. That's like the one thing was I was like, that match, the build-up, everything. I wish it would have been in front of fans.

"I feel like that whole build-up from the first match with Bryan to essentially WrestleMania, it was like, I was able to somehow create that momentum. I did the Talking Smack promo and that carried the Roman match. I felt like that in front of a crowd, you know what, it would have been great.

"But you know, things happen. Do you know what I mean? So we made the best of it. Hopefully, we can run it back one day."
