Chad Gable Addresses Rumours Of Planned WWE Singles Push

Is Chad Gable open to splitting Alpha Academy?

Chad Gable and Otis remain a popular act on WWE TV as Alpha Academy but rumours ahead of WrestleMania 39 noted that WWE had discussed splitting up the tag team. The split would see Otis move to Maximum Male Models as a comedy wrestler, while Chad Gable would be pushed as a serious singles star.

Alpha Academy were said to be on the fence about a separation, though, due to Otis and Gable's longtime, close friendship.

Gable expressed similar sentiments in person when asked about a possible split and singles push by GiveMeSport, with the former Shorty G revealing he is happy to continue teaming with Otis. Gable did note, however, he would like to see what he can do as a singles talent at some point in the future.

"We're in a very cool spot. We're still a team, but they're also using me in these singles matches, giving me some of the top guys in the company. I'm perfectly happy continuing as it is. Long-term, I've explored everything there is to do in tag wrestling, so I do want to see what I can do as a singles wrestler," Gable stated.

Alpha Academy teamed together at WrestleMania 39 as they faced Viking Raiders, the Street Profits, and Ricochet & Braun Strowman in a Showcase Match. The Street Profits picked up the win in the match, pinning Ricochet.
