Change Made To WWE Survivor Series Match

A change has been made to Carlito vs. Santos Escobar

Survivor Series 2023 is coming to fans later tonight, but as late as last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a big change has been made to one of the matches. Originally scheduled was a clash between Santos Escobar and LWO member Carlito, who was looking for revenge after Escobar took out his friend and LWO leader, Rey Mysterio.

However, a segment on SmackDown led to a brawl in which Escobar got the upper hand, and also followed it up with a backstage attack, “injuring” Carlito and rendering him unable to compete at the premium live event. The save was made by Dragon Lee - someone who has had his sights set on Escobar in recent weeks.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was one second away from cancelling the Survivor Series singles match until Dragon Lee insisted to be in the match instead. Aldis agreed to these demands and the bout at the show will now be Santos Escobar vs. Dragon Lee, marking the latter’s very first match on a main roster premium live event.
