AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs makes his entrance during an AEW show in 2024.

A recent injury to Powerhouse Hobbs had a domino effect on the January 29 AEW Dynamite and the upcoming February 1 Collision.

Hobbs worked both nights of AEW’s Maximum Collision shows in mid-January and was backstage and willing to work at the January 29 Dynamite. However, per a report from Fightful Select, Hobbs was not cleared for action on Dynamite due to Hobbs having recent stitches that have not fully healed yet.

Plans were changed for both Dynamite and Collision, with Hobbs originally factored heavily into plans for both shows. AEW doctors have said that Hobbs will need another week on the sidelines until he can compete again, thus his only appearance on Dynamite was a backstage pre-taped promo.

This latest setback seems to be the best-case scenario for Hobbs, with the former Team Taz member missing most of 2024 due to injury. Hobbs made his return to action in November 2024 after a seven-month layoff with a ruptured patella tendon.

Hobbs’ last match saw him team with The Outrunners and Rated FTR in a win over The Death Riders and The Learning Tree on Maximum Carnage Collision.
