Changes To AEW PPV Schedule Confirmed

AEW confirm their PPV schedule is changing

After much speculation, All Elite Wrestling have confirmed that their pay-per-view schedule is indeed changing, with the move from four/five PPV events a year confirmed.

Speaking on the pre-Revolution media call on February 29, AEW President Tony Khan revealed what he thinks could be the ‘sweet spot’ for AEW PPVs going forward:

"I could see this year being nine to ten (events). Nine is probably a good sweet spot. It feels like that’s about the right number. I don’t want to make a huge change or increase, but definitely, eight [in 2023] was incredibly successful and I don’t want to do anything totally different, but I do see an opening for nine, probably, and maybe ten. Nine feels like a great number for us, in particular when you also consider I put on three Ring of Honor streaming events annually, that puts AEW doing our nine strongest events plus the ROH’s three strongest events," said Khan.

Outside of the traditional AEW big four (Revolution, Double or Nothing All Out, Full Gear) the promotion also ran AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II, All In Wembley, WrestleDream, and Worlds End in 2023, as well as the Ring of Honor events Supercard of Honor, Death Before Dishonor XX, and Final Battle. Reports had long suggested that AEW broadcast partner Warner Bros. Discovery were pushing for more PPV events as part of their ongoing contract talks, with the next AEW PPV event potentially set for April.
