Heading into Goldberg's retirement match with Gunther at this past weekend's (July 12) Saturday Night's Main Event, there was much concern about the WWE Hall of Famer's physical condition.
Goldberg made no secret of the fact he was banged-up as he went to battle the WWE World Heavyweight Champion but, thankfully, it looks like he came out of the match none the worse for wear.
The same cannot be said for the match's referee Charles Robinson.
On Instagram, Robinson shared a picture of an X-ray that showed what appears to be a cracked rib he sustained when Goldberg accidentally speared him.
"Thanks @goldberg95! Never fear…I am ALL MAN and I can't be kept down! I will return for @wwe #smackdown next week in #SanAntonio! #wrestling #nofear", he wrote. In a prior post, Robinson shared a picture of him taking the spear, as well as one of him and Goldberg posing for a selfie backstage, alongside the caption:
"Still friends with @goldberg95 after having the honor of officiating the match against @gunther_wwe for @wwe #SaturdayNightMainEvent in #Atlanta! Ribs are still sore but so what…I got SPEARED! #wrestling #wwe #lastmatch #goldberg".
It has been a painful few weeks for the veteran official, who also took a big shoulder tackle from John Cena in the main event of Night of Champions (on June 28). That spot reportedly elicited huge laughter backstage.
