Adam Cole sad at All In

Adam Cole tearfully relinquished the TNT Championship at AEW All In due to injury, with Cole reportedly contemplating retirement ahead of his announcement.

Cole has had a torrid time with injury in the past several years, and is believed to have recently suffered a concussion several days ahead of All In on July 12. During his address to the fans, Cole noted that he wasn’t sure if this could be the end of his career, and a report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live suggests Cole was close to retiring at the event.

Cooler heads clearly prevailed, as Cole did not officially call time on his career, noting he was not in the right headspace at All In to make a permanent decision on his future.

The concussion is believed to have occurred on the go-home edition of Collision, with Cole noting he was feeling sick the day of All In. AEW President Tony Khan made a judgement call to pull Cole from the show, with Kyle Fletcher, Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, and Dustin Rhodes competing for the vacant championship inside Globe Life Field.
