Chelsea Green has hit back at criticism over her making an appearance at the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest.

The Fan Fest, which will be held at The Ellipse in Washington, DC ahead of UFC Freedom 250 on the south lawn of the White House, will feature meet-and-greets with several WWE wrestlers on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14. Green will be one of a number of talents available for meet-and-greets along with Charlotte Flair, The Miz, Trick Williams, The Usos, Tiffany Stratton, and Bron Breakker.

There was immediately a backlash towards the WWE talents advertised for the Fan Fest, and Chelsea Green responded to one X/Twitter user who mentioned her past advocacy for transgender rights.

"Doing my job and supporting the community are not mutually exclusive. I'll continue to do what I can to advocate for human rights whether you approve or not," Green replied.

With the event taking place at the White House, UFC Freedom 250 is heavily connected to President Donald Trump, whose administration has taken steps to restrict the rights of transgender people. WWE have close links to both UFC and Donald Trump, with UFC and WWE having the same parent company in TKO Group Holdings. Trump, meanwhile, is a WWE Hall of Famer and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque is the vice-chair of the President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon is also the United States secretary of education, and WWE signed Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr's niece in a move that was reportedly a "politically forced" signing.

UFC Freedom 250 will be held at the White House as part of the celebrations for the 250-year anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The show will take place on June 14, which is also Donald Trump's 80th birthday.
