Chris Jericho: AEW Is Not In Competition With WWE

The AEW star was the latest guest on Austin's WWE Network show

Chris Jericho has said that AEW is not in competition with WWE and is focusing on providing a different product.

Since All Elite Wrestling's inception and move to weekly television with AEW: Dynamite in October 2019, comparisons between their show and WWE programming have been frequently seen, particularly with AEW being broadcast on the same night as NXT up until this coming week.

The ratings between the two shows have regularly been compared but Jericho is adamant that the two companies are not in competition, with each focusing on doing their own thing as AEW looks to establish themselves.

Jericho told Steve Austin on Broken Skull Sessions: "I didn't think there would be another national promotion again that could really...I don't want to say competition, because we're not in competition.

"Obviously, by proxy, we're thrown into that, but we're worried about our own stuff and doing things differently and doing things a different way to draw the fanbase to create more of the choices that we had during the Monday Night Wars. We haven't had those choices in a while and now we do and people latched on to it."
