AEW’s Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite was a ratings winner, and the ending of the eponymous match ignited debate amongst wrestling fans worldwide.

With MJF threatening to throw Chris Jericho from the top of the Blood & Guts cell, Sammy Guevara threw in the towel for the Inner Circle, before MJF threw Jericho anyway. Although some have soured on the stunt due to Jericho falling into a controlled padded environment, it seems that Jericho suffered a legit elbow injury from the fall.

The injury was first reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, before AEW’s commentary team made reference to Jericho having a ‘dislocated elbow’ on the May 12 edition of AEW: Dynamite. Jericho himself appeared during the show, with his left arm heavily bandaged, and with a medical brace adorning his arm.

Dave Meltzer gave an update on the severity of Jericho's injury in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, saying:

“Chris Jericho suffered a dislocated elbow in the fall off the cage at the end of the Blood & Guts match on 5/5. I presume he’s working Stadium Stampede based on the television angle but otherwise he’s out four to six weeks.”

We'll have to wait and see if Jericho makes the Stadium Stampede.
