Chris Jericho Reveals AEW Backstage Reaction To CM Punk's WWE Return
Chris Jericho has spoken of the reaction backstage in AEW to CM Punk’s recent WWE return
CM Punk’s recent WWE return predictably shook the wrestling world to its core, with Punk returning to WWE for the first time in a decade.
After his firing from All Elite Wrestling, rumours started to circulate that Punk could make his way back to WWE. AEW’s Chris Jericho has since spoken on the reaction within AEW to Punk’s signing, saying the following to WFAA:
"It's business as usual. It happens. It's the same reason why I'm sure there wasn't a big reaction when Adam Copeland came to AEW or when Will Ospreay signed with AEW or when Danielson, Moxley, and Adam Cole came to AEW. It's good for the business that guys have the ability to go between companies. It's great for the fans and it's great for the talent overall. It just makes the business stronger and that's the most important thing," said Jericho.
Jericho had previously referred to Punk as a ‘cancer’ in the AEW locker room following the events of Brawl Out in 2022.
