Chris Jericho Vs. Sammy Guevara Set For AEW Grand Slam

Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara have been friends since day one of AEW Dynamite, but now for the first time ever they will be battling one on one in a singles match. 

With tensions growing between the pair ever since the Jericho Appreciation Society disbanded, things finally came to a head on last night’s AEW Rampage, though it emerged in fairly amicable circumstances. Due to their recent issues, Jericho and Guevara agreed that it would be best to do battle during a promo segment as all they wanted to do was punch each other in the face. 

Their match will be contested at the upcoming AEW Grand Slam event from Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20.

The current for Grand Slam is as follows; 

• MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe or Penta El Zero Miedo or Roderick Strong or Darby Allin - AEW World Championship
• Saraya (c) vs. Britt Baker or Nyla Rose or Toni Storm or Hikaru Shida - AEW Women’s World Championship
