Chris Jericho Wants AEW To Re-Sign Brian Cage

Could Brian Cage stay with AEW after Chris Jericho's comments?

Brian Cage could soon be on his way out of AEW/ROH, with reports in late January revealing that The Machine's contract with All Elite Wrestling will expire in a matter of weeks. Cage's deal with the promotion was originally set to expire in February 2022 but AEW picked up his option year.

If AEW are planning to offer Cage a new deal is unknown but Chris Jericho has urged the promotion to re-sign the ROH World Six-Man Champion.

"I think Brian Cage over the last six months is the best Brian Cage has ever been. I think he's finally starting to understand some of the psychology of wrestling rather than just moves and that sort of thing. He is one of a kind with his size and agility, but now there is more intensity and I think he's really understanding who he is as a wrestler. Six months ago I might have said 'Well, whatever, if he says that's cool', but now I think he has become a way more valuable part of our roster and I would sign him for sure. Absolutely," Jericho told Daily Star

After almost a year off TV, Cage returned to All Elite Wrestling in October and he has been a featured performer on Dynamite and Rampage over the past several months. The 39-year-old has faced Bryan Danielson, Konosuke Takeshita, and Willie Mack since the beginning of 2023.
